The Netherland’s Orchid Society (NOV), on the occasion of its 75^th anniversary and the Society of Dutch Orchid Producers (KNOP), celebrating its 25^th anniversary, will jointly organise a magnificent orchid exhibition in the splendid environment of the Castle Gardens Arcen (near Venlo, NL). Under the name of ORCHIADE 2006, the exhibition will take place from September 22nd to October 1^st 2006. This joint effort of NOV and KNOP will produce a unique orchid show, probably the largest ever held in The Netherlands.

The Casa Verde, the large tropical green house of the Castle Gardens Arcen, will be transformed into a tropical garden full of exotic orchids, among them hundreds of botanical species. In the stately rooms of the old castle the Dutch orchid producers will exhibit their results of producing hybrid orchids for a worldwide market.

Furthermore, additional exhibitions will be organised to show orchids on paintings and on photo’s.

And of course, visitors will not have to leave the exhibition ground without a proper memory of it. Orchids will be on sale in a large variety together with potting materials and fertilizer.

Orchiade 2006 is eminently suited for individual visitors as well as for groups. The Castle Gardens Arcen, with a total area of 24 ha, is in combination with the orchid exhibition certainly worth a full day visit. The NOV and the KNOP are eager to welcome you.
